Thank you for all your positive comments over recent weeks during the consultation period regarding the school day. As part of our ongoing improvement process, I wrote to you to inform you of my intention to extend the length of the school day in the new academic year.
I am pleased to announce that the consultation period has ended and the changes suggested will commence from Tuesday 6th September.
The changes will:
- Bring Coal Clough Academy more in line with our mainstream partner schools.
- Allow us to offer extra literacy and numeracy interventions every morning in order to give extra support to our pupils in those key areas.
- Enable pupils to have sufficient time to complete their programmes of study and improve their outcomes.
